As an industry leading consulting firm, Kimley-Horn provides cutting-edge expertise in sustainable design. As a developer, we have an obligation to “walk the talk.” From our very first conversation about the design of parc24, sustainable design concepts have been integral to this project.

The United States Green Building Council has developed a third-party certification program known as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System ™ otherwise known as LEED. This rating system has become the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health.

LEED Key Areas

  • Sustainable Site Development
  • Water Savings
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Materials Selection
  • Indoor Environmental Quality

A point based system, the LEED program allows buildings to achieve basic certification, or beyond that, higher levels including silver, gold and platinum. It is our goal for parc24 to achieve a silver level LEED certification, setting a new standard for development in Vero Beach and Indian River County.
